Another day, another Boston…..the weather was actually nicer this morning….i woke up to the sound of my new checking in roommate…..he is from Turkey and has been traveling for more than a month (Hemmmmm)….I grabbed a bagel from the kitchen but I went to Starbucks for the coffee….some things are just better not changed…..it was a very nice and slow morning… the kind you wish you can have when you wake up on Monday morning to work….

I decided to go finish touring the Fine Art Museum….the one I said it wasn’t that impressive…..well, I paid an extra 8 bucks to the Venetian exhibit….the exhibit had the paintings of the three most famous Venetian artists: Titian, Tintoretto, and Veronese.  It was great…..amazing work…these guys have outdone themselves, 3enjad.  I would definitely take my girlfriend there and pay for her ticket ;)…..i went through the museum’s 18th and 19th century art also…I didn’t have a chance to visit them on Saturday…..in my opinion, they pale in comparison to the Venetian art….even though there was Monet, Von Gough, Ranet and other dudes……anyway, the whole museum experience was worth it after all.

I yelled as loud as I could

Next stop on my list was the first Christian science church….yah, I have no idea what it is, but its building was humongous and very modern….definitely a tourist attraction…especially when you hear about free guided tours…..those are gems in the city for the backpackers….i got there and then I yelled as loud as I could without being heard from the outside….the church was closed on Mondays!! NOOOOOOO!!!!!! I was greatly disappointed and bummed out…..how and when was I going to see it again??? [go ahead, make fun of me for not being more organized……] i consoled my self by promising my curiosity to visit the website…[as if…] – but nothing was going to relieve my sorrow other than a slice of cheese cake from the cheesecake factory….when I got there, it turned out to be a nice dine-in restaurant….table for one please, I said to the waitress while looking her straight in the eye….i know what she was thinking: LONERRRRRR. – whatever!....i got a meatloaf and it was very good….it was also so filling that I didn’t have room for the desert! I wasn’t craving it in the first place anyway

I then walked to Boston’s public library….it felt European….it looked like a gallery from the outside and had artwork and statues from the inside….but it had to be built as a library because there were a lot of book shelves…at any rate, it was alright

Next, was Trinity church….that was really beautiful….nothing extravagant yet it was very elegant….the architecture, the art, the atmosphere….it was all there….if I were to design a church, I would build it after this one…..it was modest yet compelling (is that the right word? I hope so)….the only thing with these old churches is the air conditioning….oh man, it was boiling in there…..it is already hard enough to get people’s attention in our churches, can you imagine if it was that hot?

I went to another historical church in the vicinity, but it wasn’t special in anyway – may be that is why it was free admission – but its stained glass was okay

After that, I went to Boston Public Garden….it is sort of Central Park for Bostonians….not that big with a pond in the middle….i took a nap there [I wasn’t the only one] and woke up by an ant crawling up my arm

Instead of going to the science center, I decided to do more walking around the city….i had checked out the science museum website and nothing seemed interesting to me…..i walked to Downtown crossings, financial sector and borderline china town. I then took the T back to my station, stopped for a nice evening read at the local Starbuck (same one from the morning) and headed “home”.  I needed to check on few things for my trip to NYC tomorrow

out,

Elia$
