Pete wanted to check out what rural Nicaragua was like, so we headed up to the mountains. Esteli isn't that small of a town--it has tens of thousands of people living in and around it--but its known as cowboy country. And it was. I've never seen so many cowboys in my life (and that includes going to texas). After the heat of Granada, it was great to go up a few thousand feet to a place that was still warm, but not blazing hot.
Pete and I spent an evening wandering around the city and sampling the local cuisine. It's amazing how much food you can get for 4 or 5 bucks. The pictures will really tell the story better than words can. We didn't do too much of note in the city, but we met some people, talked about life in Nicaragua, went to bed, did it again, and then left late that morning.
