Still in Santiago, and today I started off helping Anton to continue his car search. A trip to the now open tax office then to a couple of car yards, and I ended up leaving Anton to test drive and work out his next move.
I met up with someone at the hostel the tour leaves from which I move into for Saturday night. We decided to go to Santa Lucia, and then to Barrilo Bellavista. These had beautiful views of the city and you really got a feel for how massive Santiago is. It really is a huge city, and I believe has some 16 million people living in and around it. At Barrilo Bellavista there is a cable car to a huge statue of the Virgin Mary overlooking the city. Santiago also has an obvious smog problem, which makes taking good photos a little difficult. Although you don’t really notice it on ground level.

Tomorrow I have to find a sleeping bag and mat to take on the tour as a lot of it is camping. Then Ill need to move into the other hostel for one night – the party hostel La Casa Roja.
