Finally I´ve started my long desired journey. My last days in Cusco were nice. Had a little goodbye party in the hostal. With the staff and my boss. They bought me a little present and both them and my boss were very sweet and thanked me for everything. I gave a lot of my clothes away to them and they were all so thankfull. It felt really good to play for santa claus and the look on their faces was enough. And as selfish as I am, I have some more space to buy new ones :). My last day I went horseriding.. ow my god!! I of course had the `not listening horse`. All laughing at me as my horse again decided to go galloping. I was so mad at the guide, he didn´t do a thing. Good for him he didn´t understand any Dutch. Well at least I made sure the others had an entertaining day. I was happy it was over.

We had to change our whole plan. We bought tickets to go to Bolivia, but of course the day that we wanted to leave there were strikes. It was quite dangerous between Cusco and Puno (another city in Peru). There was a different route but they couldn´t garuantee that we would arrive alive. So because we thought our life is a bit more important to us than seeing Bolivia, we´ve decided to go to Lima, 24 hours by bus, and there we took a flight to Buenos Aires.

Buenos Aires has great shops, I could now easily write a whole story about the shopping, but I´ll spare you guys that. I´ll go back there in about a month and the shops may better be prepared..:) We´ve just spend 1,5 day there, so enough to explore next time. We took the bus up to the Brazilian border. Iguazú falls. That´s the place where the famous waterfalls are. And nobody sad a word to much about those waterfalls, they were unbelievable!! So gorgeous!! Although the weather wasn´t good the day was amazing. We also took a speedboodride and went under the falls. We got soaked but it was great fun. Near the falls were some great forests where we did some active stuff. It was the perfect environment. Enjoyed that all very much.

A dutch girl travelling with me knew a woman in Sao Paulo. Or actually outside of SP. She has a range, a beautiful house with a lot of land. She invited us and we´ve stayed there for 2 nights. She was an amanzing woman, so kind, interesting and the best hostess. The food she gave us was beautiful. All fresh from her land. And when I just wanted to say `this is the best cheese I´ve had in South-America`, I saw `Kaasmakerij` (Dutch) on the back. Hmmm, what did I miss that. The food here in Brazil and in Argentina is so much better than in Peru. I´ve had the best steak of my life in Argentina. We must have gained at least 2 kilos in one day. But on the other hand we could use some vitamins.

From there we went to RIOOOOO. First thing I´ve noticed in Brazil: People are so amazingly kind. I went to explore the city with Merel, 2 clumsy tourists with a big map. And several persons came up to help us. Told us where to go and not to go (which was actually the area we were in oepsss). They are lovely. I´m not really impressed with the citycenter, but the beach areas are beautiful. Also a little area in the city called ´Santa Teresa` is beautiful, so sweet and pretty.

We were staying in Copacabana. The beaches are nice and I´ve never been to a place with so many beautiful people. You almost get scared to go to the beach. We went to the famous chirst statue. We waited fo a clear day so we had great view over Rio. Although there were to many tourist, it was a great day.

At the moment Im in Buzios, having a great time with Merel. These are her last days, I dont know what I will do, but I meet so many new people here that it won´t be a problem. This is a beautiful beachplace, with a lot of shops, so I´m so bad situated ;). The weather is lovely and there is lots to do. I love it here. I can´t put pictures on the site. The internet is too slow. I´ve put some on facebook and I´ll try Hyves later. Sorry about that.

Love Lobke

Hopefully all is well there!! Untill the next one!!!.
