Bryce Canyon is the place that showed me a million castles.

We woke up around 7am to get an early start on our morning. I began by enjoying the peacefulness around us, a little breakfast, some writing followed by a wonderful hot shower. We arrived at our first hike; which was called the Navajo-Queensland Trail. It connected the Sunrise and Sunset trail and the only way I could describe the overlook is by saying “Wow”. It completely took my breath away with the views that went for miles and appeared to be the tops of many castles called “hoodoos”. The beginning of the hike consisted of a few switchbacks that lead you into a canyon then opened up to this amazing trail. Along the trail were sights of many trees, the formations of the beautiful, and we even saw a deer along the way. The trail was only 3 miles roundtrip, but the hills on the way back up left us winded and wondering how steep it really was. After we ended our hike we decided that we would take a scenic drive to see the rest of the 18 mile park. We stopped at places such as the Rainbow Point, Agua Canyon, Natural Bridge, and finally finished our journey at Inspiration Point. It was around 2pm and we were ready to move on to our next destination. From here we began our drive to Canyonlands. Along the drive the land was crazy, as you would see a grassy area then a beautiful canyon would pop out of nowhere. We finally arrived to Canyonlands National Park in an attempt to find a camp spot for the night. The ranger station was closed for the day so we were on our own. I made a suggestion that we headed to the Shafer primitive campground to see if there were any openings. What I didn’t realize as we drove down the dirt road, is what the trail had in store for us. As we headed down the dirt road we took a turn that suddenly became very narrow and dropped straight down about 2000 feet. We realized that it was close to sunset and that we may not make it to the campground in time so we decided to turn back. Prior to making our way back to the main road we enjoyed the views; which consisted of canyons for miles and mountains in the distance that we had convinced our selves that they were the Rockies. As we arrived back at the main road Jeremy and his adventurous side decided that we were going to find the most secluded spot available to camp for the night. His intuitions found us the perfect spot down a random road where the only sight of life that existed was the remains of fire pits that had been used by prior campers. We set up our tent and started happy hour overlooking the most beautiful and peaceful canyons that I could have asked for. The canyons were red throughout with imprints of where the water had run through. You could see so many layers that displayed the changes in the canyons and the years that had passed. The sunset over the canyons and after dinner we slept under the stars, as it was a perfect night.
