Back in KL
From Two weeks Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Jun 27 '09
Back in KL we still had some unfinished business!! We took a hotel just opposite our previous one (Yvette budget wanted cheaper ;) ) and headed to the world-famous indian saturday night market!!
It was not a really special market when we arrived though. It looked like every ordinary Queens-day market, but instead of selling "Broodjes Beenham" and Hotdog they were selling Kebab and other unidentifiable food.
Yvette wanted to try a lot (Crab-on-a-stick, crayfish-on-a-stick and different kind of cakes ) and payed the feared consequences next day ;).
The next day, after sleeping in, we walked to the lake gardens. This was supposed to be a patch of near-jungle in the middle of KL. But it turned out to be weird, it was a small hill with some trees and monkeys and just roads crossing it.... not really inspirational.. We had a free tour through the planetarium (which did not have a planetarium..!?) and skipped the birdpark because it didn't look interesting and the price was too high.
It was already getting late so we decided to head towards the Masjid Jamek! This is a real mosque in KL which we could admire. But, ofcourse, Yvette was not allowed to show all the flesh she is used to, so she had to get some "decent" clothes. The Mosque was pretty cool: Arabic style!! and we had fun dressing up, Moslim is not our religion though...
