Leaving Taman negara early we started on the local bus to Jerantut. The local bus was pretty quite compared to the busses in Indonesia, so we could sleep a bit. We switched busses to Kuantan where we arrived in the afternoon. It took us a while to find the right bus here, since it was not clear which bus would leave the terminal. (The chauffeur didn't show up and the next one arriving was driving away while people were still trying to enter).

Around five o'clock we finally made it to the place described in the lonely planet: Cherating and, just like the guy who wrote the LP we asked ourselves: Where is everybody??

Yvet - Budget!!: "I'm not gonna pay 80R for THAT!!!"

We found a nice place to stay: Cherating Chalets, but the menu over there was disgusting... (Veggimite pizza anyone?) So we had to eat at some different places along the "strip".

The next two days we did some relaxing at the beaches and came to our senses again! Ronald bought a kite which was certainly one whole hour of entertainment before it got stuck in the trees! and Yvette enjoyed reading a book and lying in the sun all day long!

We had some fun talking to the waitress though, finding out if he/she was male or female for example... We picked up some clues along the way: Ronald's hair was liked, Her/his name was Leo, Girlfriend ended the relationship and he/she didn't wear bikinies...

Our conclusion: She was the male part of a lesbian couple... but we could be wrong ;)

The last day we booked a river trip to the mangrove in the neigbourhood we could use some adventure ;). When at the last moment we thought we were the only ones that booked (there were almost no other tourists in this place anyway)... we were joined by a group of 8 malaysian people (Do'h!!). But it was fun anyway and we saw some creatures: A snake, honey bees, monkey's, what looked like an otter, Red Jellyfish and some small crabs.

After an hour the adventure was already over (next time we rent our own boat :p), and we had a nice BBQ meal!

Time to use the transport system again! and move back to Kuala Lumpur!!
