In which the protagonist is still held up in Guangzhou

Alright, so I'm still in Guangzhou. I'm not going to continue the voyage as planned because of the flu. H1N1 to be precise. One of the students I'm traveling with set off a sensor at customs on the way into China. They took her off to a hospital for quarantining purposes, despite the update in CDC advisories that people with this flu should treat it like they do any other flu. This brings up the question of why they are reacting so differently, which is now the subject of my research. The trip to the hospital was very surreal for Meggie and Francis, with people in full hazmat gear escorting them, not even looking them in the eyes. The whole thing sounded like quite the adventure. None of us are even sick. The times they are a changing and our plans are ceasing to exist accordingly. We're going to basically be traveling around China to... somewheres. There aren't really any plans yet, but that leaves opportunity for excitement.

We did go to the tomb of a Nanyue king in the city, which was pretty cool. The tomb was quite clearly not built for tall people. Neither is the hotel for that matter. There are doorways that I have to stoop over to get through. But anyway, the tomb was from around two thousand years ago, and contained tons of artifacts and remains for the king to take into the afterlife. Apparently having twelve iron swords helps you get by in the afterlife, so he had tat, as well as some concubines and a musician. It was a pretty good diversion from the fact that we're going to be here for a few more days. I should be alright, and this trip will make for some good stories when I get back.

Tiger got to hunt, Bird got to fly; Man got to sit and wonder, "Why, why, why?" Tiger got to sleep, Bird got to land; Man got to tell himself he understand.
