Today we drove from Arches to Bryce National Park. We followed the GPS directions which had us taking the road less traveled. The drive had us driving through incredible rock canyons and then switched over to cattle ranches which were open grazing land, so numerous times we would see cows on the road. We were doing a lot of driving at very high altitudes, and it got chilly. We were lucky because according to our 5 year old map, alot of the roads we were travelling on were supposed to be unpaved. We arrived at Bryce National Park and we had a little bit of a drizzle. We were able to get a campsite right away, so we set up and had lunch. Then we went to explore the park. Our first stop was Sunset Point. The colors here were incredible. There were roses, reds, corals, whites, creams. It was wonderful to see all of the HOODOOS. As we were standing at the top, we saw people down at the bottom of the canyon. Let's go down there. I think it was about 540 feet to the bottom. There were switchbacks cut into the side, and the walk down was great. There was a slight drizzle off and on, and the temperature was in the low 60's. Perfect hiking weather. This place was otherworldly. We were walking amongst the pillars, and then we were walking beside a dried out creek bed. We saw the double bridges too. Then came the dreaded walk back up. The high altitude didn't help either. The kids and Tim were doing great, but I was huffing and puffing, but I did it. Very empowering. At the top, we continued our drive and stopped at alot of the overlooks. Incredible views. Memories to last a lifetime. Back to the camp for hotdogs over the campfire and then down to the visitors center for a movie and then back to the campground for a hand of cards. Off to bed. It was cold tonight and everybody used both of their sleeping bags tonight. Also a big plus, no snorers.

Hey guys sure glad to hear you are getting to do all the things you are, Val thanks for not letting little Cassie get to close to the edge you probalbly saved her life. Nick be very careful about driving to fast around the turns. Tim and Val do you know what your children were doing while you were kissing.
