Elton John
From Big OE April - July 2009 in Bristol, United Kingdom on Jun 13 '09
Spent the morning with Derek, Nancy sitting out in the their georgeous garden, brilliant sunshine. Left Derek and nancy's after spending 2 lovely days with them and headed off towards Bristol. Found our accommodation at the Coach House Inn, a very old coach house that was converted into a Bed and Breakfast. made our way to the Park N Ride at the University grounds to catch the bus to the Gloucestershire Cricket Grounds to see Elton John perform. On the way to the stadium we were delayed due to the bus not being able to fit through a narrow street. Another bus driver eventually got us through the gap. The opening act was Richard Fleesham who also played the piano and sung. When we arrived at the grounds there was a heavy shower of rain so we went to buy a plastic raincoat bu the guy in the line before us got the last one. It turned out that was saved ourselves £6.00 as it stopped raining in 10 mins. In the typical British way the security staff sponged your seat down so that it was dry. The concert was excellent and Elton played for almost 2 1/2 hours without a break. At the end he signed his autograph for alot of people at the front of the ground. As it got darker at about 10pm the lighting features became more effective. Found our way back to the park n ride and joined the que, along with the other hundres of people!!! No buses could get to us as the tiny streets were grid locked. Waited for 45 mins for the bus. Once they were able to get to the ground they very quickly moved the people. A great day!!
