Oh how time flies...
From Our long long honeymoon in Leeds, United Kingdom on Jun 15 '09
Oh we know it has been a long time since our last blog, but parenting is quite time consuming, team that with finding a new job, putting our house on the market and house hunting in Sheffield and the months just fly by!
We've still managed to fit in fun stuff and plenty of Daisy time as you will see from the photos.
our social life revolves around babies, coffee and cake
As for our little lady she is coming on in leaps and bounds. Long gone are the days of endless illnesses (vomiting bug, viruses and colds), in with the smiley, happy Daisy days. She sleeps fairly well now and we always get our Daisyfree evening time. Though rarely do we get to sleep through without a few "putting the dummy back in" trips.
After finding out that she suffered from reflux we decided to wean her early and boy does she love her food! Especially if it's orange in colour. Though recently has diversified to the full spectrum. Claire has been dilligently steaming, mashing and pureeing the good stuff so that she has a pure and healthy diet. Powered up with puree she has rapidly mastered sitting up, rolling over and is well on the way to crawling. She is still sparkly eyed and uses here cheeky smile to attract all sorts of attention from passers by.
Claire and Daisy have been going to waterbabies every week. She loves it and is learning how to be safe in the water, not to be afraid of being dunked and getting her head wet. Daisy is quite enjoying it too...
Claire has been on some floristry courses and is enthused by the new skills she has been taught. So if you need some flowers arranging then get in touch! The house has been packed with blooming bouquets always good for visiting prospective house buyers.
I've got a new job as a Science teacher at High Storrs School in Sheffield. It's part of our masterplan to move closer to Claire's parents in Sheffield. It didn't quite happen after returning from travelling last year but the fantastic experience of teaching at Harrogate Grammar this year put me in good stead and the High Storrs interview day went smoothly.
We rushed to get all of the little flaws on our house ironed out after getting the job and it went on the market just over 2 weeks ago. We've had a lot of interest and are hopeful that even in the current recession someone will want our beautifully presented house.
We're looking at properties in Sheffield (Claire is obsessively monitoring the areas we are interested in) so fingers crossed!
It's funny how times have changed, our social life revolves around babies, coffee and cake rather than sunny beergardens, bbq sessions and booze. Now most of our Leeds friends have babies or are expecting so every meeting is one big creche! The concept of "lie-ins" "undisturbed nights sleep" and "recharging the batteries during the holidays" now seem alien and belonging to a different life.
So that's us, we look forward to hearing how you are getting on and promise it won't be four months before the next blog!
