We happened to come to Hartford, WI just as they were having their city wide garage sale weekend. We went rummage shopping both mornings with Poppy and the gang. Things are quite a different experience with kids. Between Alyssa (2.5) and Brennen (5) there seemed to always be a munchkin trying to cross a busy street just out of hand holding reach. We had a great time though. The kids got bags of toys for cheap, including a bionicle lego set that the adults had more fun with when the kids went to bed. Sam and I picked up a dehydrator and an awesome vintage train case which we are leaving at Poppy's til we return to Wisconsin.

As the cheese fanatic I am, I was very excited to try real cheese curds (a party in your mouth) and 11 year old aged cheddar! We also went to the super cute town of Cedarburg for some wine tasting and downtown shopping. Cedarcreek Winery put the town on the map. An old wool mill was restored in the 70's and has some awesome hand carved beams and creaky wood floors. The old cellar was a perfect place to store wine... a Frenchman got involved and bam; they became the best wine in Wisconsin. (not all, but some of the grapes are grown in WI). It was a great tour of the wine making process and then we got to drink! It was pretty darn good too.

There are a lot of other gems in Wisconsin that we will be experiencing on our return. We have also gained the responsibility of another traveler in our group. His name is Flat Stanley. He is a friend of Brennen's and wanted to explore the world. We have him with us and will be getting great footage of him in all the famous places we go to. He's quite an excited boy.

I'm sitting in the truck hurriedly trying to type all this out, so as not to get behind on my solemn blogging promise. Even with 42 days, things seem to be rushing by too fast.
