Last Night - return to Fort Worth

After a late night of unsuccessful raccoon spotting in Bandera we managed to get up early enough to hit the road before 9am for the 320 mile drive back to Fort Worth.

After 10 miles on the road we were side tracked by a massive outlet mall and decided to fill our boots with bargains for the last time.

Arrived at the Fort Worth Sheraton for our 2nd bargain late booking of the trip.

The last night out in Fort Worth beckoned so we re-visited our favourite haunt, The Flying Saucer for a couple of local brews.

Jill inadvertantly ordered a beer with an ABV of 9.1% - naughty girl!

For our dinner we decided that a final Texas sized steak had to be done, so Ruth's Chris steak house was booked.

Full of red meat and red wine we trundled back to the hotel to pack our bags for the last morning trip back to return the car and check in for the flight home.

One quick last flying visit to the Stockyards area where we began this journey to purchase some last minute gifts was made then it was off to DFW airport.

In 2024 miles we saw an amazing array of what the Southern USA has to offer, friendly folks, lovely food, amazing cities, lively nights out, great music, great accomodations and friendly police officers (phew!)

A well recommended part of the world to visit, especially if you have an aversion to raccoons.
