I have just returned home after an amazing tour in Colombia.

Colombia has everything from beautiful white sand beaches to stunning old colonial towns with abundant history.

All in all I have had an amazing experience in Colombia and cannot recommend it highly enough

We started our tour in Colombia´s capital city, Bogota. The city stands at 2650m above sea level and has a population of 8 million people. There is soooo much to do here from visiting the biggest gold museum in the world, taking in the amazing scenery from the top of monserrate hill, dinning in top class restaurants in the Zona G and the vibrant nightlife of the Zona T. Bogota is basically a brilliant city to visit.

Our tour with a company called Colombus Tours, took us on to the stunning and interesting Zona Cafetera next where we learnt all about the coffee making process whilst staying in an old house on a coffee plantation. The views were amazing and we had the opportunity to go horse riding around the plantation as well as some small treks or just realxing by the big swimming pool, which I did one afternoon as the weather was so nice.

We travelled by plane then on to the Unesco world heritage city of Cartagena. Cartagena blew me away with its fortified remains still in tact, you got the feel of times gone by as the history just oozes from its pours. The city is on the Carrebean coast and has a fantastic climate year round as well as beautiful beaches in the nearby Rosario Islands.

It was more history and beautiful beaches next as we made our way to Santa Marta and the Tayrona national park. The Tayrona civialzation thrived in this area 2000 years ago and from within the natioanl park you can take an easy trek to an old village once inhabited by these people. More beach time with the fantastic weather for one more day in the park before we headed back to the capital Bogota.

All in all I have had an amazing experience in Colombia and cannot recommend it highly enough, that is also the case for Colombus Tours who were totally professional throughout and made sure our whole group had the time of our lives.
