Flew from Fort Worth into Nashville and picked up the car.

We did 3 circuits of the airport parking areas before we made it onto the highway into downtown Nashville and our hotel for 2 nights in "Music City".

We sampled the afternoon early evening nightlife and soon realised that Nashville was going to be a noisy hectic and fun experience. Bars one after the other all had live bands blaring out country, rockabilly, bluegrass and rock into the late hours.

We met a Johnny Cash look-a-like who gave us a CD, believe me, he's not a sound-a-like!

A 70 mile trip out of town took us to Lynchburg, where Jack Daniels is made. A great tour without tasting (the county where the distillery is located is DRY!)

We headed back hearing that Newcastle had been relegated so consoled ourselves with a bit of retail therapy around the Grand Ole' Opry area of Music Valley. Popped into a gun store and was shown various weapons including a massive handgun all available to purchase and drive away with as long as you had a Tennesse driving license - mad!

We left Nashville in the rain on 25th May after a very healthy brekkie of pancakes and syrup.

Memphis, here we come
