Waking to another lovely day, we decided on a trip to nearby Fontainebleau. Home, i had come to understand, to a lovely palace.
Arriving at the town after a slow drive through the French countryside we drove for what seemed an age finding a parking spot. Parked at last we headed off to the nearby palace grounds.
The grounds had lovely gardens, lakes and to Jack's amusement, huge fish
Famous for its inticate stairway, the palace is much smaller than Versailles, but much more intimate. The grounds had lovely gardens, lakes and to Jack's amusement, huge fish.
The town of Fontainebleau was also a pleasure to walk around, its small cafes and squares very pretty and quiet. A lovely place.
