Florida Beaches
From Our Travels in a 5th Wheel in Tampa, United States on Apr 06 '09
Lyndsay and I flew to Tampa Florida where we met up with my brother Reg and his wife Carolyn for a week of fun, touring the Tampa area. We rented a condo for a week in Sarasota, which worked out great for us, as we wanted to have a look around the Gulf side of Florida.
We spent the week, sightseeing on the Gulf, taking in Clearwater, enjoying the beaches on Anna Maria Island and Siesta Key. One day swimming at Turtle Beach, a dolphin came in to the swimming area which was great to see.
We enjoyed a great visit with my Uncle Roger and Aunt Carolyn who winter over each year in Sarasota. Thanks Aunt Carolyn for the tasty home cooked dinner! A shopping day at the outlet stores was quite successful however, I think Reg’s shopping bag was bigger than the ladies!
One day we drove inland to Myakka River State Park where we spotted a few alligators. We had a picnic lunch by the lake.. Florida weather was humid, but really no bugs to speak of. The beaches and shops were crowded, mostly due to spring break and Easter Weekend. We really enjoyed seeing Florida. Lyndsay and I flew back to Phoenix April 16.
