Every year the Christain Motorcycist Assosication has their annual Run For the Son motorcycle ride. This year it took place on April 26. The starting location was at Graceland Baptist Church on Kamer Miller Lane.

Here is the article from the local news paper explaining more about the ride.

More than 100 motorcyclists rolled out of the parking lot at Graceland Baptist Church in New Albany yesterday for a sun-kissed afternoon ride in the annual Run for the Son fundraiser.

The Run for the Son is the lone annual fundraiser for the Christian Motorcyclists Association.

Most Run for the Son rides around the United States and Canada are scheduled for next Saturday, but the Clarksville chapter, J.C.'s Bunch, held its ride yesterday.

This was the third year in a row the 21-year-old Southern Indiana ride started and ended at Graceland.

The route of about 90 miles took riders up to Crandall, back down through Floyds Knobs, out to Corydon and then back to New Albany.

The CMA is an evangelical ministry and outreach primarily to the motorcycling community, but the ministry supports other missions, and money raised by the Run for the Son goes to supporting national and international missions.

One of its main missions is providing transportation to evangelists in foreign countries to allow them to reach out-of-the-way spots through a group called Missionary Ventures International.

According to information provided by the CMA, the ministry has donated nearly $6.9 million to the organization and placed nearly 4,000 motorcycles, almost 6,000 bicycles, four horses and two boats with pastors in 90 countries.

Clarksville chapter President Larry Squyres said yesterday's turnout was probably the biggest in several years.

Riders came from other cycling groups as well as the CMA, and there was even a group of active-duty soldiers from Camp Atterberry who participated.

"The important thing is being able to raise the funds that the national and the international missions need in order to do their work in the countries out there where really Jesus isn't known," he said. "It's just awesome that so many people are willing to come out and give their Sunday afternoon to support something like this."

Organizers hoped yesterday's ride would raise about $5,000, and tomorrow the Floyds Knobs location of Beef 'O' Brady's will donate 10 percent of the day's proceeds to the Run for the Son as well, said Pat Williams, the chapter's treasurer.

The ride seems to get larger every year, and the weather this year probably played a part in the big turnout, Williams said.

"We have a beautiful day. We really couldn't have asked for better," she said. "God really blessed us today on this."

One of the riders, Brenden Schroeder, 67, of Greenville, came out for the run after hearing about it at church that morning.

He also took the opportunity to join the CMA before heading out on the ride.

"They give what they can at every opportunity, and that's what I want to be part of," he said."
