Arrived at Bordeaux via Rennon at 2.30pm. Visited a magnicient monument aux Grondins that had a huge fountain at the bottom of it. Biggest fountain we have ever seen. The city has a nice feel to it. Visited the place de la vistoire where lots of people were sitting at tables having a drink. Nice and warm here, about 20 during the day. Accommodation had basic cooking facilities so we hada pasta dish for tea, (even put some gs in it) along with a nice bottle of Champagne for 5Euro , so nice not to have to eat out.

Thursday we caught the train that turned out to be  bus to Arachon a seaside town. A lovel holiday place. Had a lovely salad a a restaurant down by the water. Visited St Michael Basilica of Bordeaux on our return to the city. Built between 1350 - 1550. The stained glass windows were made1960 - 1963 to replace the windows that were destroyed during Bordeaux bombing in 1940. The steeple that is a separate building was built between 1472 - 1492 and measures 114 metres. Visisted Place de la Boure.
