What we did on Saturday
From Scott & Kristi's Eleuthera Trip in Eleuthera, The Bahamas on Apr 25 '09
4-26-09 8:43 Sunday Morning. Yesterday was quite interesting. We decided to head south and check out some beaches. Still no diving because of the wind and waves, but this morning looks a lot better than last night. Last night was by far the worst. I would have liked to see surfers beach last night because what we saw there 2 days ago was what we had here at the house last night.
So there are very, very few signs here telling you where certain beaches are etc. so we missed a lot driving south. We ended up all the way down in tarpum bay and had lunch at D&D’s. After talking with the locals for an hour or two we headed back north. We found a spot to get in the water in tarpum bay about 2 miles north of town. There was no one on the beach but 2 dogs that lived about 100 yards down from where we were. They decided to come down and say hi in the water. It was a very shallow shelf and they came out about 50 yards in the water to see us. After playing in the water for a while and finding the shells I told you all about yesterday we headed back to the house to get a couple things and then went down to twin coves beach. We ended up exploring the volcanic rock and cliffs there instead of getting in the water. It was pretty cloudy by this point so we decided laying on the beach probably wouldn’t be too great and getting in the water yesterday didn’t seem very smart with all the waves. So after this we just headed back to the house and made dinner.
Grant I’m looking forward to getting you in the ocean on our next vacation I think you will love it. Yesterday Did you see the picture of me holding the starfish? I found two of them, the other one was holding onto a shell when I picked him up. Be good buddy, I love you I hope you are having lots of fun with Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Kimmy.

Hi everyone! Today looks like a day that will include LOTS of beach time! The waves are not as big and we are going to try a couple of the sandy beaches that have good snorkeling too. We decided to wash some clothes earlier since it’s nice and sunny today and they will easily dry outside. (just a washing machine, no dryer). The washing machine is in the back of the house with a door that is only accessible from the outside. I must have disrupted the little mouse that lives under the washing machine. He came out to say hi as soon as I turned it on. Also, the "neighbor" that is a ½ mile away probably hear me! Well we are getting ready to pack up our stuff for the day, head to the library and update the blog and head to the beach. Talk to you soon, Kristi
