Bogota bound

So, After leaving you all at Heathrow the flight to Colombia via Barcelona was incident free and very comfortable considering the long haul.

I landed at Bogota´s el dorado airport, 2650m above sea level and found breathing a little harder as I walked along and made my way to the immigration piont. After going through this process and collecting my bags I was met by my airport transfer and taken to the hotel some 30 minutes away. I must admit that all signs so far are very good from the travel company I booked with, Colombus Tours. Airport transfer on time and nice family run hotel in the Chapinero district of Bogota.

I met up with some people on my tour and we were taken by our tour guide for a short orientation of the area around the hotel. Later in the evening I met the rest of the people on our tour, there are 11 of us in total. The group has a mixture of age´s and everyone seems really nice. Our guide is 6 foot 7 and big built so I think everyone (like me) thinks we will be safe and looked after during our tour here. We had dinner after our meeting and then on to a bar for a couple of beers so that everyone could start to get to know each other. I must admit though that almost every 2 minutes I was getting distracted from the chit chat in our group as the local women here in Colombia are exremely beautiful. I got caught lots of time having a look at the girls by other people in the group and have already earned the nick name "fan" within my group as apparently my head is always turning side to side like a cooling fan. No luck with the ladies as of yet though so it was off to bed after the bar as we had a city tour the next day.
