Private Schools
From South America in Tacuarembo, Uruguay on Mar 27 '09
Our host to schools here has taken us to her own children's schools. They are private schools. Her oldest son is in a class of ten other students that study to be on the track of college entrance in Montevideo. The University is free to go to for any students in Uruguay but they must pay for their own living expenses in the big city capital which is a hardship for most families. Much work, saving and then working in the city while going to school would be the norm. Our family host and their relatives are very successful. Doctors, lawyers and children to study to be engineers with one wanting to be a bartender is part of the wishes and dreams of the families.
