The Pink Palace
From RAJASTHAN - INDIA - PATTAYA - THAILAND in Jaipur, India on Mar 19 '09
hmmmmm still no sign of Jen, she probably has the guide tied to the bed somewhere......heeee heeeee. After breakfast, which I shared with a lovely little girl who was all of six, I joined Natalia and Natasha and we took off in the tuk tuk to see the Pink Palace - Palace of the winds - beautiful but we are a bit palaced out right now. We also visited the Observatory which was recommended by Sanjay and it was really great. The Maharajah had commissioned it and it was full of astrological instruments. All outdoors but very interesting. We then scarpered back to the hotel to get our stuff and go for a swim at another hotel that Intrepid use. Have just spent a luffly day by the pool (still no sign of Jen) and now the three of us are going to try checking out the shops.....this is gonna be good......dodging cars, bikes, horses and carts, pigs, dogs, cows, goats not to mention the locals. Speaking of cows, I've never seen anything like it. They curl up like dogs in corners and rest their heads exactly the same way a dog does. The cows also get up on the traffic islands, lay down and then just hang there for the day until they decide to amble around - all the traffic goes around them....it's hilarious...
