After a wee bit of breakfast.....still on the plain bread girls......we took off in tuk-tuk's for the Amber Fort......absolutely amazing but the Jodphur fort is still the cat's pajamas, in my opinion anyway.  Now, this fort in Jaipur has the elephant ride thing happening and we had been warned that Intrepid do not in anyway endorse the rides because of the mistreatment of the elephants......Gawd these poor animals.....they just trudge up and down this hillside with tourists on their back - it is really, really sad.  I have seen some sights whilst here in India but this was pretty sad.  Moving right along though, we then went back to town and explored some markets.....now call me a diva, but the Indian market shopping is bloody hard work and you will be surprised to hear that I have stayed away because it's all the same old crap only with a lot more hassle.  So girls, my suitcase is still quite light......a situation I'm going to remedy in Thailand with Stevie Rider to do all my carrying.......

Anyway I digress, after a very quick look at the markets we took off back to our hotel.  Everyone was pretty shattered after the overnight train ride so we all had afternoon siesta's.

That evening, Sanjay took his harem on our first date to this magnificient theatre to watch a Bollywood movie called Delhi 6.  The cinema was a wonderful surprise - OH MY GOD - it was an art deco dream.....so gorgeous and beautifully maintained.  I was in love with it.  The movie itself was all in Hindi but we had Sanjay narrating for us.  It didn't matter about talking.....Indian's obviously don't believe that movie going is meant to be a quiet experience.  There were kids screaming, mobile phones going off and also lots of seat shifting as the locals tried to get closer to Natasha, Natalia and Jen......it can feel like a bit of a zoo at times with us on the wrong side of the bars.....

They have intermission - and while I was standing in the gorgeous foyer, these beautiful school children from Kashmir came up and started talking to me.   Honestly, they stole my heart - they were so polite and well spoken and just gorgeous.....

After the movie we ended up going for dinner - Jen sloped off with her Intrepid guide (haven't seen her since).....he finally managed to track her down after his own tour had finished......

Poor elephants. I hate that ! I'm that bad that my children have never been to a circus as I refuse to contribute to animals being treated like that... that's so sad :( The movies sounds like a headache... lucky it wasn't something you were hanging out to see with all that back ground noise huh ! :) So.. are you learning the language girly? Will we be having a cooking AND a language demonstration on your return?
