The hills are alive with the sound of music.
From Stop the world, I wanna get on! in Kitzbuhel, Austria on Feb 28 '09
10 of us set out at the un-godly hour of 3:30am to Manchester airport to fly into Salzburg, Austria and to then continue on to the ski resort town of Kitzbuhel.
My school friend Keira (aka Moo) and I were novices and had booked ourselves in to ski school for 6 days whereas everyone else in the group were experienced though all at different levels.
Our hotel was 4* and really nice (although too bloody hot!) with half board of breakfast and dinner daily. We'd have breakfast and dinner/evenings together as a group most days and then do our own thing when it came to skiing which worked out well.
The first day, a lady in our group called Sue fell and broke her knee and spent most of the remainder of the trip in hospital - she actually had to have an operation, the poor thing! There were a few other dramas including lift closure due to bad weather and people getting stuck up the mountains and having to go off piste to get back, and getting lost in the progress! Fortunately, being with a ski instructor all day, Keira and I were free of such dramas!
To be continued and hopefully written better.
