Upcountry Maui and points in between

For the last 10 days of our trip, we headed to Upcountry Maui, which is more of a quiet, rural area with lots of ranches, sweeping views of the coastline and charming towns like Makawao, Paia, Pukalani, Haiku and Kula. We stayed on a ranch just outside Haiku. From here we visited Maui's only winery for pineapple wine, explored back roads, got lost, took the famous Hana Highway (twice!), watch sunrise over the Haleakala volcano, biked down the volcano, played golf, watched surfers and windsurfers tackle the waves, relaxed on the beach, did some shopping, spent $385 on an amazing meal and generally relaxed! Corinne took about 1,500 pictures on the whole trip, but don't worry only a select few have been uploaded here for your viewing pleasure. Fortunately her new D300 worked, even after Pat dropped it and cracked the body on our first day in Maui!
