On Thursday my friends, Brittany and Chelsea, and I decided to take a day trip to Siena. We left around 9 am and it took about an hour and 45 minutes to get there by train. When we got there we sat and had lunch at the Piazza del Campo. This is the most popular piazza in Siena, surrounded by really cool medieval buildings. The weather was great so we decided to sit outside in the sun for lunch. After lunch, we went to a nice open air park called the Enoteca Italiana. Here, there was a restaurant with wine tasting and a really cool wine cellar in the basement. We obviously participated in the wine tasting and took a tour of the wine cellars. The wine cellars in the basement was made of up 5 five different rooms and wines from all over Italy. After the wine tasting, we decided to do some shopping. None of of bought anything but it was nice to see all of the high fashion boutiques. We were back in Florence by 9 and decided to go out and try this Mexican restaurant everyone has been talking about called Tijuana. The customer service was terrible but the food was absolutely amazing! It was nice to eat something other than Italian. Alright well I have to get going because it's Tuesday which means... Beatles cover band night! I'll write tomorrow because I have to tell you about my trip to Viareggio for canaval and some other things that I have been up to!
