Kuekenhof Gardens & Holland w/Trent, Em, & Finn

While we were here, we just got to hang out and relax and spend time together. Trent and Emil took a few day trips on their own to Delft and Amsterdam. One new and exciting thing we did was to go to Kuekenhof gardens, a tourist spot for flower lovers right outside of Amsterdam, near a town called Lisse. Perhaps you saw Matt Lauer there this past spring when he did his Where in the World is Matt? episode in the The Netherlands. This huge park is known for its huge tulip fields and beautiful flower displays and gardens. Although the fields weren’t actually in full bloom, the park was beautiful and we did get to see many tulips, daffodils, crocuses, and orchids. The way in which they were displayed was pretty amazing and well worth the trip!

This seemed like a quick visit for all parties, but it was a good one! Traveling with kiddos can be a bit overwhelming, so I was pretty happy that they were able to make the trip with Finn at this age. It was great for me to have family here and really hard to say good-bye to them.
