You may have noticed in the last entry it said that the next destination was a place called Lake Takapo, and that it was. The lake was a beautiful place but other than the scenery (of which we've seen so much of recently) it had little else to offer so that was a one night stop. Again, I'm not complaining, it was an awesome place but on this blog there is only so much and so many times I can write about the beauty of a lake next to some mountains. After this we travelled to the Board Peninsular whicyh was a lovely little French town (in New Zealand not France, obviously). Here we stayed two nights, in a nice little hostel run by American, German and French people. By this time we are running out of money so here we enjoyed the cheaper things in life such as sausages, fudge, games and coffee. And the quaintness of the little town. Oh and a couple of boxes of wine. (How French).

After this we moved onto Hanmer Springs which is what this blog is titled as. This place also had a French feel to it and the Hostel was also very quaint with signs such as 'if you do your washing up we love you even more', rather than 'If you don't wash up you will be evicted'. Its the little things that make a difference! Also they had a friendly cat that lived there who became my friend, it reminded me a lot of Baz as it was huge and fat!

A list of places we visited on our last week with a car.

Anyway, Hanmer Springs is famous for its hot water pools, which is exactly as it sounds, they are pools full of naturally heated water with a couple of water slides (although it turns out the slides were meant to be paid for, we found this out after we had used them already, bollocks to them though! Ha!) The hottest of the pools was the Sulpher pool which was 40degrees. After being told off by the lifegaurds several times for having our heads underwater we left. But I felt it was an activity worth mentioning for the blog. The next place was to be our final proper expenditure!
