Out of Valladolid and on our way to Merida we stopped for the day at Chichen Itza, probably the most famous Mayan site, certainly spectacular even through very busy.  It is a massive site so the crowds don´t spoil it and the scale of the structures is awe inspiring, the main pyramid dominating the central area but the other structures; the ball court, market and observatory equally impressive and lots lots more.

We were shattered after spending the day walking round so collapsed into the bus for the 2 hour ride on to Merida.

The buses really are fantastic cheap, regular, punctual, clean and air conditioned, with a network spanning the whole Yucatan peninsula.
