We got a cheap as bus ride up to Inverness and it was completely white the whole way up. Meagan missed it but enjoyed many episode of Felicity. We got to Inverness, found our backpackers, met some more damn Aussies and made our tea for the first time. We really appreciated a decent selection of vegetables instead of mushy peas and potatoes of different varieties. Inverness was smallish and it reminded us of the Latrobe Valley (Interpret that however you want).

We planned on going to Loch Ness on our second day there but the weather was so bad that it was cancelled so we pretty much sat around all day which was probably needed anyway. We went to a pub for tea and David discovered a nice Scottish beer which made him happy.

Our last day was spent going on a tour bus out to Loch Ness. There we saw so many models of the monster that it was not funny. We jumped on a boat and went for a cruise and docked next to Urquhart castle. The castle itself was pummbled by cannons in the 16-17th century so it was mainly ruins but that made them all the more appealing. We got extremely excited becuase as we were at the highest tower of the castle looking out onto Loch ness it started to snow. By the time we had finished with the castle there was a think blanket of snow everywhere. It was magical but the tour guide kept apologising to us for the weather. We didnt mind at all. Meagan insisted on buying a Loch Ness Monster doll from the Loch Ness Monster shop. She got one. David hates it.
