It was a brisk September morning in Aarhus, as I stumbled outside and down the front steps of my apartment building. This morning, Jenny and I were to begin our trip to see the Egeskov Castle.
We boarded the 7:27am train and headed toward Kvaerndrup. On the train, we took in the sites, read our individual books, and arrived at our destination shortly after 10am.

To our dismay Jenny and I discovered the busses were on strike and had been for the last week or so and would not be running. This meant about a 2 mile walk to the castle (at least it didn't rain).
30 minutes later we arrived at our destination... and continued to spend the rest of the day on the castle grounds.
The day's events included: a tour of the castle, a walk and lunch in the Kitchen Garden, a look at the Renaissance Garden, a look inside a few museums, a tree top walk, getting lost in Piet Hein's labrynth maze, and a stroll through the water garden and herbaceous garden.. among other things.
