So a few days ago I headed with a group of friends for a day trip to Alsea Falls just a little bit outside of Corvallis.   If you like the outdoors and are  ever in the Corvallis area you HAVE to see this place.  Basically it is a small waterfall that is on a rock slope that extends for about  a 1/4 mile.  The amazing part is that there are many miniature waterfalls as you  hike down the rocks in the river.  Yes, that is right, you can literally hike IN the river. it is possible to not get wet jumping from rock to rock and large stone formations but I still bring my water shoes when i go there. several friends and I hiked down the river for a few hours and finally found a nice little place to make a fire and pitch a tent.  It was cold out and the way your breath goes over the river and into the starlight is just spectacular.  In the morning I felt refreshed and started my hike back to the car.  I'd say the end highlight was a burrito at a local Mexican restaurant called La Conga.  There is something about walking into a restaurant at 4 in the afternoon and smelling like campfire that just puts a smile on your face.  Anyways, I can't wait to go back here again, this place is beautiful and fun for the whole family (swimming holes for the kids GALORE).
