I'm starting my explanation of Lucca from the night we got there (so technically this should still be part of Day 4).  We got into Lucca around 9pm.  A bunch of us went out to eat and I had the best tiramisu I've ever had.  So so delicious!  At our hotel, Laura and I were sharing a room and our shower didn't have a shower curtain (everyone else had one).  Laura tried to carefully take a shower but the water was going everywhere.  So, I went downstairs and tried to explain to the non-English speaking receptionist the situation.  I was playing charades with him as I used my hands to symbolize water coming from a shower and then shook my head no as I pulled a pretend shower curtain, and then I threw my hands out as if water was going everywhere.  Finally, he took me to a closet and I picked out a towel.  I went upstairs to give the towel to Laura and ask what else I should do.  Then, I went back downstairs and motioned for him to follow me.  I showed him our bathroom without a shower curtain and with water on the floor.  He looked and then walked away, but within a couple minutes he just came back with a few more towels. haha.  He didn't seem too concerned.

So, Lucca the next day...I started out my day taking a shower and then cleaning up the floor.  We walked into Lucca, which is a beautiful fortified city.  It's really cool because the fortifications were well preserved and were changed into a park on top of the walls, creating a greenway around the town.  We got on top of the walls and walked around the path with trees on either side of us.  We went to a cool restaurant that was on top of the fortifications.  It used to be an artilary station.  We also went to two cathedrals: S. Martin and S. Michael.  One thing I liked about Lucca was all the people riding bicycles everywhere.

Next city- Pisa.  Pisa was probably my least favorite city we visited.  It was extremely touristy and there were guys trying to sell belts, purses, watches, etc.  They'd continuously try to come up to you and sell you stuff.  It was pretty annoying.  The whole time we were at Pisa, I had to watch my stuff very carefully.

At Pisa, we went into the cathedral, monastry, and cemetery.  The cathedral was my favorite part- it was really beautful.

Next stop was Vinci to see the Leonardo da Vinci museum.  It was cool to see the stuff, but I was a little disappointed with the museum.  I think they could have made it more interesting and interactive.  We didn't get to see very much of the town Vinci, but from what I saw it looked really nice and pretty.  After Vinci, we headed to Florence!!
