We arrived in Lisbon early in the the morning after overnight travel from Madrid.   We dropped our bags at our chic little hostel in the baixa then wandered around til we could check in.  Someone at the hostel recommended we ride tram 28 for a great scenic tour of the city.  We didn't have any luck finding the tram so we headed back to the hostel and decided to find it later.

We were wrecked from the train ride so a day at the beach sounded very relaxing.  there are many different beaches all around Lisbon all within under an hours traveling time and all can be accessed by train or bus.  We took the bus to Costa da Caparica. To get there we had to cross the huge suspension bridge where you can see all of Lisbon.  After a few hours in the sun we headed back in to the city and turned in early to catch up on some well needed sleep.

We were wrecked from the train ride so a day at the beach sounded very relaxing.

Then next day we set out to ride tram 28.  Again we couldn't find it so instead we headed to Belem to see the Jerónimos Monastery. We viewed the cathedral the gardens and the cloisters. We walked the town for awhile then indulged in the famous pastéis de nata, which is a small flaky pie filled with yummy custard cream. After, we jumped on the train and headed further away from lisbon to Carcavelos beach to relax for the afternoon. We spent the evening drinking from the ridiculously cheap keg at the hostel with a bunch of other budget travelers.

The 3rd day we woke and headed straight to Cascais beach, which was about an hour away.  More relaxation! This was the nicest beach so far, but the pictures were lost so I can't share it!

The last day was spend touring both Sporting Lisbon and Benfica's stadiums until we boarded an overnight bus to Malaga. Oh, and we never did find tram 28.....
