Bonjour! I'm in one piece!

I want to be quick: Their house is amazing, nestled in the woods as part of an off-the-beaten-track village, very picturesque (have yet to explore). Still feeling fragile but will be fine after a good night's sleep. Had a huge dinner-like lunch with chicken and rice; Christine promised me that i would put on 10 kilos during my trip. The French is more difficult than I expected, I really have to pay attention when they talk because they are in the habit of muttering. I struggle when they don't address me directly - eg. when sitting around the table chatting away, I suddenly looked up from my chicken to see them all expectantly staring at me. I seem to be able to get away with smiling and laughing whenever they laugh!

Expectant staring.

Everyone is very, very nice, and I think I'll get by. The mum looks like the new yr11 coordinator, i forget her name, and she has the same caring aura. In fact, the only thing that's pissing me off at the moment is the keyboard! The q is where the A should be; the M is next to the L; W and Z are swapped and you have to press shift every time you want to put a full stop. Hinderance!!!

I think I'll go unpack now. My room is perfect and looks out over the woods. Looking forward to a good night's sleep!!!

Miss you all,

Munch xx

I've signed up to hear all about life in Azay-le-Rideau and progress in the acquisition of French! I enjoyed your message very much and rate it an 11 out of 10 as very informative with literary merit and humour! Particularly interested in the lunch menus, Muncho. xx

Hey muncho Good work muncho. sounds like you are having a good time. Can I just say muncho it's not the french that causes you to be out of it. It's the fact that you are always out of it and it's in your nature. Ur french totes rocks. I'm looking above at the travel blog rate system and thinking that I could" report it" as that would be funny but hey thats a little harsh so I will rate it as "liked it". I love your mum. It's nearly as good as her text messages. I hope you are having a fantastic time I miss you Embo PS say hi to claire to me if she is near.
