Leaving so Soon

It was raining when we got back from Rotterdam and we wade our way back to the Ieplaan and freshened up for a final dinner with our beloved hosts. We decided to briefly go out for a last quiet Tuesday night out at some of our favorite haunts and came back to sit together in the garden after midnight, glad to be together at least while facing the sadness of having to leave a place we'd felt so comfortable and free.

We packed our things in the wee hours of the night, and slept a little before breakfast and a final walk to the Valkenbosplein tram stop, ride to the train station and on to the airport. Checkin and customs were uneventful and after a final dash of Duty Free spending for souvenirs to bring home, we boarded our flight bound for Minneapolis. And everything started off pretty good ...
