First full week

First week here was quite lesuirely

Went to the beach a couple of times- so amazing and the water is even warm even to go in and they call this winter. The other day I went down to Terrigal beach for a wander and was sat there tanning myself with my factor 50 and there the locals were with wooly hats and jeans- they must have thought I was nuts!

Friday I went into Sydney on the train- beautiful ride through the "bush" and past Brisbane waters however the weather was rather pants. Once we got to the centre we headed for the Centre Point Tower- best views in the city- apparently!! Once we had queued for an hour to get to the top, the cloud have covered the whole city and it was raining rather heavily!!eventually it lifted a bit so i could vaguely see the harbour bridge and opera house- was rather disappointed that I couldnt see more- but this had good chocolate cake!

Today I went whale watching- went to Norah Point Lighthouse about 45 mins from here and waiting..and waiting..and waiting...I must be cursed! We pasted a lady telling us that there were 3 humpbacks playing in the bay but they had gone by the time we got there :-(

This week has a lot more going on as my youngest cousin is now on his school holiday- On friday were going to the zoo- which involves a ferry ride to the other side of Sydney harbour and good views of the bridge apparently!

Tomorrow, I am going to pretend to be a catholic and go on a pilgrimage to the Blue Mountains- its world youth week in Syndey and theres lots of cheap excursions organised! It should be a good day out- at only ten quid for transport and dinner! Wed im off on a similar kind of trip to the hunter valley where they grow the grapes so should get a nice bit of wine tasting slotted in!Im assuming its far superior to the Undie cheap stuff...
