Today was our first full day in Boston and our introduction to the public transportation in Boston. Louisville needs to reconsider this.
We began by finding out Ann is sick. But like a true trooper she took some advil and tagged along for the day. Our help was to cancel the three mile walk through Boston and replace it with a bus tour and harbor cruise.
From seeing Manny in person to the three home runs hit by his teammates, to the rousing tradition of the crowd singing "Sweet Caroline", this evening was a highlight.

As we exited the train we were shocked see the Garden where the Celtics play. Kevin was estactic -- they are his favorite NBA team. They are closing in on a world title and by all appearences Boston loves their Celtics -- banners and shirts everywhere.
The bus tour took us through town and shoed us the site of the Boston Massacre, Old North Church, Boston cemetaries and various historical sites and buildings. Boston is rich with the history of the beginnign of the revolution and the start of our country. Oddly, many of the locations have not been preserved and you basically see where something happened and it literally may be a parking garage now.

The harbor cruise took us out and showed us where Bunker Hill was, the USS Constitution, Coast Guard and Navy ships and covered much of the history of the area.
After the cruise, we tackled the subway to make our way to Fenway Park for the Red Sox game. It is almost impossible to describe the Park. For baseball fans a visit here is a must. The history seeps out of every corner and the interior of the stadium is unique in its design. The entire place is smaller than it looks on tv, including the famous Green Monster. We had good seats in right field and a great view of the game.

The Sox won the game and we had a great time. From seeing Manny in person to the three home runs hit by his teammates, to the rousing tradition of the crowd singing "Sweet Caroline", this evening was a highlight.
A subway ride and train trip put us back at Glouester at midnight in time to plan for Friday. Hopefully Ann is better. It looks like Harvard may be on the schedule!
