A tour of Chianti...
From Three months away in Florence, Italy on May 29 '08
On my last Friday in Florence, Maryanne and I decided to take a wine tour of Chianti. It was about the laziest thing I've done in Florence, as we loaded onto a bus full of tourists and were then trucked from spot to spot in Chianti for wine and cheese and photo-opps and finally dinner. But it was lovely. And the countryside was beautiful. Because Maryanne and I, who are continually late, were the last to arrive for the bus tour, we had to sit separate and so I found myself next to the cutest French couple who were on vacation celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. But by the end of the tour, I was speaking a bizarre and what I'm sure was an incomprensible mixture of pidgen Italian, French and English. It takes so little to completely defeat my mental powers these days. Nothing too exciting to report on the trip, but it was so beautiful I couldn't resist adding a few photos!
