  • Shantaram - by Gregory David Roberts

On the Road to Nowhere

Supposed to be autobigraphic. A convict breaks out of his Australian prison going to India for a new - and crazy - existence which the book is about. Although I didn't make it to India I never regreted carying it around.

  • First They Killed my Father - by Loung Ung
I read her account of the dark years of Khmer rule while in Cambodia. Highly interesting. I wrote a blog entry.

  • The Tree of Man - by Patrick White

A simple story of a man settling in Australias bush, marying, having childern, other people coming to settle in the area, a village grows, and so on. A simple life of simple people told in a most extrardinary way. Best read while in Australia.

  • Pepsi to Apple - by John Scully

Sort of a dishwasher to manager story. I thought it most interesting to read what he does and in particular why. A manager's life first in a traditional and later a the most progressive company.

  • The Robots of Dawn - by Isaac Asimov

A Sci-Fi detective story about a roboticide - the killing of a robot. A bit like inspector Colombo but far better. I think I took the book only twice into my hands - and then it was finished....
