Blue Chefchaouen

The drive from Moulay Bouselham to Chefchaouen was uneventful except for a small town between Ouezzane and Chefchaouen (Pont something?) where a load of school kids played chicken with us :-( This was the exact same town this happened in a month ago on our way into Morocco and also near where rocks were thrown at us. If you are driving this way you have been warned!
The campsite at Chefchaouen is above the town, which itself is high up in the mountains, so there is a great view down. The town is really beautiful with houses painted either white or a blue that must be seen to be believed. The atmosphere is very relaxed, helped no doubt by the local ‘kif’ (Marijuana) trade.
This also means the campsite is populated by campers somewhat younger and hippier than the norm for winter camping ;-) We had a nice lunch on the main square and bought some more lights and blankets in the souks.
The trip back across to Spain was an easy drive and the border crossing was also much easier on the way out – we were through before we knew it! The crossing was a little rough on the way back prompting Jay to announce that life jackets were required!
And then we were back to Southern Spain.
