First Day of Travel - Philadelphia to Vancouver: A Soggy Set Off
From Alaska Cruisetour 2008 in Philadelphia, United States on May 09 '08
After spending a better part of the day packing for the trip we set off in the pouring rain for Philadelphia. Thankfully we didn't hit alot of traffic but the roads were flooded with rain which made for slow driving.
We were flying from Philadelphia International Airport to Toronto and then onto Vancouver, B.C. where our cruise ship was waiting.
Our flight was very early in the morning so we spent the night in Philly. We checked into the Microtel Inn & Suites which is located close to the Philadelphia Airport. It's a typical small hotel, nothing to rave about but the price is reasonable and they have a shuttle service to the airport.
We got to the hotel about 10 p.m. and made arrangements to leave my car in their lot before heading to bed. We had to be up at 2:45 a.m. to get a shuttle to the airport to catch our 6:20 a.m. flight to Toronto.
