Welcome to Hell

Beppu is sweet.  Its a seaside town with an ridiculous amount of geothermic activity.  There are these 8 areas called hells where hot water and what not bubble up and create these cools hot springs.  But that wasn't good enough for Beppu so they made mini amusement parks out of each one.  A crocodile hell, a zoo hell and so forth.  But there are statues of Satan everywhere.

Beppu also has a sex museum where you can see erotic pottery and plates, as well as full window displays of things i can't even mention and a display about animals.  Hardly a museum but awesome.

The town also has a dance hall/ performance theater called Hit Parade Club where you get all you can eat buffet and all you can drink of anything and then a band, dressed in full 50's American attire comes up and plays the best hits of the 50s with funny accents.  The locals do choreographed dance moves in front of the stage and dance like robots without out souls, just repeating moves.  It was the most Japaneses and the strangest thing i have ever seen.
