We started out tour of the Iguacu Falls national park by visiting the Itaipu Dam which was the largest dam in the world until China got to work on one apparently. It's a joint venture between Paraguay and Brazil. It's so big it provides Paraguay with 90% of its electricity and Brazil with 25%.

After that we joined the twitchers at the Bird Park. This was a great place and we saw virtually every kind of parrot and toucan that exists.

We were then set for the main event: The Iguacu Falls. Today we were seeing them from the Brazilain side but we would get much closer and even in them tommorrow on the Argentinian side. On the walk round we ran into a coati up in a tree munching away on some berries. A coati is much like a racoon but without the 'glasses' and with a pointier nose.

Next day we went to the Argentinian side, and today as with most days when we wanted it to be sunny, it was pouring with rain!! It didn't matter too much though as the falls themselves were about to soak us much more than the rain could ever do. We took a rafting boat up the river and as we found out it was also going to take us under the falls themselves.

The falls from the Argentinian side are more impressive as you're able to get much closer to them and from the river level they tower above you.
