After looking at 16 houses, we finally found our house!!!  It is not in the area that we were originally looking...but it's a brand new house and it is an extremely convenient commute!  It has 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, ac/heat in every room, 1400 sq ft, wood floors, and 2 parking spots (which is rare in Japan).  And it's only a 2 minute walk to the train station...which means we can get to the base in 15 minutes or up to Tokyo in 45 minutes.

We move in Dec 3rd!!!  It is very expensive to move in...we owe about $10,000 in cash on move-in day.  This covers the first month's rent, the security deposit (1 month's rent), landlord gift for allowing us to move in (1 month's rent), and the realtor gift (a little more than 1 month's rent).

Another great perk is that we can fit an American-sized refrigerator and oven in the kitchen!  The base loans us a washer/dryer, refrigerator, and oven/stove for 3 years.

Anyhow, we're sooo excited!!!  Once we move in and get settled, we'll send more pics of the house once it is furnished and decked out for Christmas!
