To Stonehenge on our maiden trip
From K&J's EUROPEAN TRIP in Avonmouth, United Kingdom on Aug 22 '07
*Today was the most classic start to our adventure. Lyn stocked us up with near everything that we hadn’t already got. Sheets, helmet, t-towels, camp rug and even some milk to get us started. Not to mention the ‘all you eat’ breakfast laid out on the table for us. Once we’d packed up and said our goodbyes ready to go, Kev turned the key……nothing! We’d left the stereo and the fridge on overnight- idiots haha. Oh well- a quick jump start and off we went- the journey begins. Now with a map, we headed out of the city (finally) straight to Stonehenge via Andover to collect some food supplies. We had a strict budget of 10 pounds to spend! We then stopped at Stonehenge and had cuppa’s and lunch with the famous rocks in the background. Stonehenge was quite amazing once we’d realised the significance, history and age of it. We got some rippa photo’s, even if they were from outside the fence. From there we carried onto the coast near Bristol where we hoped to find a camp spot for the night. We went down some amazing streets (more like 1 way lanes in Aus!) and through such old villages. We stopped and had a short walk along the coast and took pikkies of Wales and the bridge leading over to it. It was here that we took Plugga for a strap- he loved it! Once the sun went down, we had no clue what to do regards parking overnight so we ended up making tea somewhere in a supermarket car park until we worked it out(Thornbury?). Brilliant pasta cook up! Now with full bellies we ended up driving ourselves sleepy until we found a servo truck and camper stop where it was crash time. Today became Wikki and Plugga’s maiden voyage.
