This is bat country
From Merry go round' the World in Jaipur, India on Nov 03 '06
Okay.... I'm a bit overwhelmed. It's been a hell of a few days.
It started with Bernita... Bernita is this Indian trance chic who needed a travel partner up to Jaipur for a 5 day rave in the desert. I'm this peaced out Yoga chic who needs a travel partner anywhere. The 29 hour train ride to Dehli was insane, everyone stares at me. At one point in time I was sitting in a compartment on one bench and across from me was 6 Indians crammed on a bench all staring at me as they ate peanuts, I was the feature film on the train.

We spent the day in Dehli, mostly just trying to recover from the long ride. Then we took an overnight bus to Jaipur. Once we found the party I decided I didn't want to go because of expenses, so I took a rickshaw back to the hotel. The rickshaw driver wanted me to meet his friend in the jewelry business, why not? Next thing I know I'm being offered a job and a apartment in Jaipur. Something seemed awfully fishy... and I still can't put my finger on it, but my heart told me to say no thanks.
Jaipur is a beautiful town. Camels, monkeys, painted elephants, pigs, sacred cows, and would it be India without the dogs? There are lots of cascading forts built all over the mountains. It was good to be here, but now I'm headed back to Bombay. It's getting hard to travel in India alone, I was just at the train station and people just scream things at me, it's so confusing. They think if they speak Hindi louder then I will understand. I just need someone to roll my eyes with.
Now I sit in Jaipur waiting for a bus to Ahmedebad, from which I will figure a way back to Bombay. This story has much more to it, I'd be happy to share upon my return. I'm just at the end of my rope at the moment.
Love to you all
