Capri

It was sad saying goodbye at Onde Verde.  We managed the hike down the hill willall our luggage and a very kind American man helped Ian lift the luggage from the cliff to the jetty.  Kevin sat quietly watching he thought the american man was doing an excellent job.  we then took a small boat to Positano where we transferred to the larger ferry for Capri.  Ian and Kevin went to get some cash out of a hole in the wall and nearly missed the ferry.  We arrived at capri wihout too much more drama and found a porter and our driver for the hotel.  More mountainous narrow streets with sheer drops.  Each time i get on a boat or travel these roads i wonder what i am doing.  As for the luggage i really want to travel light.  Capri was magical, very hot and some wind.  Faye and I found the shops near our hotel we were situated in Anacapri which is really the highest part of the island.  Faye wanted a candle light dinner so we reserved this for our first night, alas the wind blew  and i mean blew it was so unpleasant we ate our main nd left.

the second day there we went to capri, well when people tell you the shopping is wonderful they mean it. had a great time in the heat it really was death defying, resisted a great Chanel watch and battled with the tourists that flock in by day to capri from all the other villages on the Amalfi coast.

We have been watching the Americas Cup in Italian, nail biting stuff, all our freinds in Valencia are saying come over, cancel Thailand.  after our second win and a glass of champagne we decided to go to Valencia.  next day we changed our minds so hard to alter travel arrangements in a foreign country.  i'm sure we will regret this decision.

Went to the Lemon Tree restaurant for dinner on recommendation of friends.  it was great and very reasonable.

left Capri by hydrofoil and as luck would have it a great swell in the ocean.  why am i on a boat.  we travelled to rome with Giovanni our trusty driver form Priaino.  We just got Kevin and Faye to te airport and then on to Rome. he got lost and it was 6 pm when we finally found our hotel.
