The flight was so long, I thought we'd nevere get there. Landed in Liberia at 6 am or so. The airport is funny. the waiting area for departures is just a roof on some poles, no walls. They pull the staircase to the plane and everybody just gets off and walks to the arrival structure, which is similar. It was humid and misty, but not too hot. The lugagge came right away and customes were quick.

There were taxis waiting outside, but we decided to sit down and think were we wanted to go. After all the reading and talking that we've done, we still had no idea what we were going to do once we land. And as we sat down we saw a bus. I went to check where he was going and how much it is. The driver didn't speak any english (not a surprise) and I was pretty shocked at how difficult it is to understand him. The accent is so differnt from our teachers and he spoke so fast. Anyway we sorted it out it was 5 bucks for 2 of us and he was leaving in 10 min.

We got to Liberia (pronounced Leeveria) and started wandering around with our backpacks with still no idea or a plan and super tired. The town is tiny and totally dead this early in the morning. I expected something bigger for a town with an international airport. I think as we saw it we decided we really wanted to leave ASAP. We passed by a little place and saw an ad for car rental. Our deternination not to rent a car was slowly(Russ says quickly) disappearing. It was actually not very expensive (compared to Europe or Canada). And the guy (Dennis) was super nice and told us so many things about the area and all of a sudden we had alot better idea of what we should do.

So off we drive to a hot springs place near the volcano called Thermo Mania. It sounded nice in the Lonley planet and we really wanted to rest. The roads were a lot beter than we read about. And the views were pretty cool.

We got a cabin and went for a dip in the springs. I've never been in any kind of springs before so I thought it was cool. Dinner was good. And being able to sleep was awsome. Oh, and local beer called Imperial is pretty good!
